Ski-Doo E-Tec summerization proceedure

Mar 26/09

E-TEC Summerization Feature

Ski-Doo has written this procedure in several places including the Shop Manual, Owners Manual and in Dealer Newsletter's and has written slightly different instructions in all of those places.

Please use the following revised instructions for all Ski-Doo E-Tec snowmobiles to date:

NOTE: It is critical to the procedure to depress the HI/LOW beam switch repeatedly before holding down the SET button. To engage the procedure, do the following:

Place the vehicle in a well ventilated area.

Add proper amount of Ski-Doo fuel stabalizer to gas tank, a full tank is best to prevent water vapour condensation.

Start the engine and let run until it reaches its operating temperature.

Using the SET (S) button, scroll the multifunction gauge to total mileage.

Repeatedly depress the HI/LOW beam switch rapidly, then, while doing this, press and hold the SET button until "PUSH S" displays. ** Important Note ** Only press switch partialy down and up again as if to only flash the lights, this works far better than completely clicking it down.

When the gauge displays "PUSH S", release all buttons.

Again, press and hold the SET button for 2-3 seconds.

The gauge will display "OIL" when the engine enters the storage procedure summerization feature.

Do not touch anything during engine lubrication cycle.

The engine will increase its RPM to approx 1600, then the oil pump will "oil flood" the engine for 30-60 seconds.

When completed, the engine will stop by itself.

Remove the DESS key.
